NOSTALGIA AT ITS FINEST
I don't know about you, but I have been waiting for a good, complete (sorry Type-0) Final Fantasy game to play on my PlayStation 4 and much to my surprise did this game deliver. What I thought was going to be another run-of-the-mill HD Remaster for current generation consoles turned in to a surreal experience I haven't been a part of since, well, I originally played Final Fantasy X on my PlayStation 2. As with every Final Fantasy game, I highly suggest you watch every cut scene, even though the lack of a skip function makes it feel a bit forced. If this is the only thing I have to complain about for this game, though, then so be it.

"Listen to my story. This...may be our last chance."
These familiar words send goosebumps up my arm as "Zanarkand" is melodically playing in the background. After making my way out of Zanarkand and beginning my adventure in Spira, I began remembering why this game was one of my favorites on the PlayStation 2. From the gorgeous visuals to the engaging music, this game once again drew me in 100%. Things I found tedious and completely unnecessary as a child, like the Cloister of Trials and Blitzball tournaments, excited me this time around. Even during the incredibly tough boss fights I had an ear-to-ear smile on my face, no matter how many times I died.
Final Fantasy X is still an amazing game. Considering its initial release in 2001, Final Fantasy X has aged incredibly well and the update in graphics, sound and the improved vibrance of color definitely made it feel like a completely new experience, one I believe everyone should enjoy, and the fact that, personally, I could play this game from start to finish, then start all over again without hesitation, makes the game that much better as an adult.
THE VERDICT:
SquareEnix has definitely outdone themselves with this remaster. Lack of a skip cutscene function aside, if you haven't played this game you should gladly (and hastily) crawl out from whatever rock you've been living under for the past 14 years (and three different releases) and play this game as soon as humanly possible. If you have played this game, you should still go out and buy this version as soon as humanly possible. Final Fantasy X is going to be a staple in anyone's PlayStation 4 collection for many days, no, years to come.
